Twixtmas sees rise in porn

The Twixtmas period – the 5 days between Christmas and New Year – saw a rise of a different kind – and certainly not one promoted by the Twixtmas campaign – a rise in pornography!

Google research has provided evidence that the number of people searching ‘porn’ on the Internet has grown year on year during the Twixtmas period.

According to blogger IT Sneak at V3.co.uk : “This year’s snow forcing many to stay indoors for prolonged periods, porn was clearly even more in demand than ever before.”

For those not wanting to spend their time watching porn, the Twixtmas campaign has many other suggestions for what to do during this period.

In my book ‘Effective Personal Communications’ I noted that what is believed to be the world’s oldest advertisement was found at the Ancient site at Epheseus. It promoted a brothel.

With the advent of our latest technology and advances in communiations, one of the biggest commercial use of the web is for…. pornography.

Some things don’t seem to change.

Oh well, I am sure the Twixtmas messsage of doing 5 good things during the 5 days of Twixtmas will prevail one day.
